I have had the pleasure and joy of meeting and photographing little Miss Anna Joy recently. She was born in March and even though she was only a few weeks old, she was awake and alert for the entire session! I absolutely love meeting new babies and I am always in awe of how little they are when they are first born. My own babies are growing up fast and I know how important it is to capture their tiny little sweetness while we can! Welcome to the world Anna Joy!

It’s Bridal Show Season!

This is the time of year when I get the pleasure of meeting the many happy and excited couples who have recently become engaged! It seems as though the Holiday Season is a good time to “pop the question” and even though we are supposed to be in the cold, winter months, couples are having fun planning beautiful summer and fall weddings! I have recently attended a few bridal shows and it’s so fun to talk to brides who are busy planning all of the details! It almost makes me want to go back and do it all over again!

If you, or anyone you know, is getting married, I would love to talk to them about photographing their wedding. I only take a small handful of assignments each year so that I can get to know my brides and grooms and capture their wedding story in their very own style. Although my calendar is filling up, I still have a few weekends open.

Check back soon for some new wedding gallery images! I’m gathering my favorites from last year and I plan on posting a new gallery in the very near future!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

I hope that you were all able to relax and enjoy some time with family and friends over this past Holiday Season! I was blessed to be able to spend Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with family as everyone on my side and my husband’s side are all living in the immediate area. Old Holiday traditions were celebrated and new ones were created. For the first time ever, we took a family walk on Christmas Day – we couldn’t believe how nice the weather was! The dogs enjoyed a spontaneous run in an open park and we got to laugh and talk without the distraction of TVs and cell phones. This past week we cleaned and purged and our last “vacation day” is being spent watching football and eating game food – hot dogs, nachos, and wings. Needless to say, the boys are in Heaven…..

To all of the friends who have asked me to photograph their family or event last year – THANK YOU!!! Bella Vie is so much a part of my heart and I truly value the trust that you have placed in me by asking me to be your photographer. I know that you have many choices in who you choose for your photography and it means a lot that you have chosen me. If we have never met and you are just here visiting – Welcome!

As we close the book on last year, I must say that I am so grateful for all that my family experienced in 2011. We were blessed with our beautiful daughter, Abbie, in February and the joy she brings to all of us is indescribable. Our boys, Zack and Nathan, are becoming wonderful young adults who continue to make us proud through their dedication to their education and the sports activities they participate in. I love to see the way they interact with their sister and the responsibility they have both taken on in helping to care for her is truly heartwarming. They are wonderful boys and although we have our bumps in the road, I am so incredibly lucky to have them and I love them more than words can describe. I am excited for the experiences that I will have with my family this coming year and I know I will forever cherish the memories we will create!

I wish all of you the best of health and the richest of blessings for this upcoming year. I look forward to all of the opportunities that will come my way and I hope that in some way our paths will cross once again!

Custom Holiday Cards

Here are some design samples for Custom Greeting Cards you can have made from your portrait session. Colors, fonts, greetings and, of course, the photographs are all customizable. They are 5×7 cards printed on heavy card stock and include envelopes. The title for each card is found in red under the image.

50 years and a Rainbow

A couple of weeks ago I was asked to photograph a family who was celebrating their parents’ 50th Wedding Anniversary. It was a partly sunny afternoon when we started but then some clouds and light rain moved in. As I was photographing, someone in the family noticed a beautiful rainbow to the east and I was able to capture this beautiful image of the Honored Couple:

This is truly a beautiful, beautiful image! And honest to goodness – it’s for real!

I hope to be as lucky as these two someday…… Congratulations!!!!

Thank you to my good friend, Sheila, for asking me to photograph her and her beautiful children. I love these kids – they always have a smile on their face and are so sweet and respectful. You’re raising them right Sheila!

We met at the beach on what turned out to be a beautiful evening around sunset. These are just a small handful – there were too many to include them all!

Do you know that you have a choice when it comes to your High School Senior photography? Yes, you probably need to visit the photographer who is contracted through the school for your yearbook headshot but you are more than free to go elsewhere for a more unique portrait session that captures who you truly are. There are many wonderful outdoor locations that allow you to feel relaxed and have a portrait session that is FUN and creative! Here are a few images from Becky’s downtown session last week:

Summer Seniors
